Help! My child wakes up dysregulated. What do I do?
I remember a time when Liliana was around 18 months old and we felt like we were just living life between the meltdowns. She was…

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION
While this list is not exhaustive, these are some of the common topics that I enjoy supporting parents through. We’ll talk about the “why” behind the behaviors, some ideas for supporting them and some actionable next steps for you and your family to take.
I can teach you all about the specific sensory systems impacted in the tasks and activities your child struggles with. I’ll explain the concepts in an easy to understand way so that you better understand your child.
I can teach you all about motor milestones, how they develop, what’s “expected” for a certain age and how to best support your child where they are at so they can start making progress without feeling overwhelmed.
I’ll give you the words and tools to advocate for your child in the school setting by providing you suggestions for supports in the classroom and ways to seek further support from teachers or other service providers.

I’m an enneagram 6, so my brain is constantly moving. My OT lenses never turn off and I can’t “un-see” the sensory and other developmental skills that go in to literally every activity. I love taking what I see and breaking it down into simple terms so parents can understand what goes into their child’s behavior and skills.
I want to shift the mindset away debates like “is it sensory or is it behavior” because I believe that sensory responses are a form of behavior. I believe there is a huge misunderstanding of the implications of sensory processing and how it can impact our everyday lives, especially how little minds learn.
I mean… I GET IT. I get the struggle. But I also know all the science and nerdy facts about sensory development that can help you make informed decisions about how to raise your sensory sensitive child.
